1.Read the text carefully and answer the question that follow. 

The children were eager to see the sun. They had been on Venus all their lives. They had been only two years old when the sun last came out. They had long since forgotten the colour and the heat of how it really was. They played in the echoing tunnel of the underground city and sang of the sun and the summer. 

A. Complete the following sentences with information from the text. 
i) The children had been only nine years of old.
ii) When the sun last came out the children were only two years old.
iii) The children had forgotten the colour and heat of the sun.

2. Fill in the blanks by choosing the correct alternative given in the brackets. 
When he saw (see/saw/seen) a star shooting  (shoot/shoots/shooting) across the sky, he breathed (breathed/breathes/breathing) a prayer. 

3. Write a letter to the manager of the courier service in about 100 words ,enquirying about the delivery of a precious parcel to your home.

                                     For your awareness, I am Srinivas Das living at Bapuli Bazaar, Mathurapur in South 24th Parganas. I'm enjoying your service for many years. Unfortunately, I am yet to receive a precious parcel addressed to me from my uncle who dwells in Delhi. He had sent me an important parcel containing some significant degines of construction. The parcel was packed on 2nd July.  It is very urgent to me.
