                                       Cunning Fox Was Fooled

Once a crow was unfed since last night. In the morning it could not bear longer. It was loitering in search of some food here and there. After a long search, the crow found a piece of meat in front of a butcher's shop in a market.

There was so much coming and going. Sometimes, the butcher chased him away moving hands around. But it was keeping watch on that piece lying on the ground from a safer place. On a chance after a long while, it swooped the piece and flew away with.

He thought to savour it in a lonely place. So he flew to a tree that was at a secluded place. He was sitting on a high tree with the piece of meat in its beak. It was a freshly cut piece of meat. That is why, perhaps, its smell was passing around.

Suddenly a fox was seen to pass under that tree. It got the smell of the flesh. The cunning fox stood looking around. When it looked uppish, it discovered the crow that was with a big piece of flesh. And it is known to all that the fox is greedy by nature. It wanted to have the meat all to itself. His head was stored with an incredible amount of crooked plans.

Instantly the fox scratched his head for a while and hit upon a plan.
Without delay, it started to praise the sweet voice of the crow. "Please, sing me a song in your honey-dripping voice," said the fox. Further, he applauded, "I'm your great fan." But the crow was not so dull as the fox thought.

The crow understood the flattery of the sly creature. And the bird smiled to itself thinking the fabulous technique the fox applied to gain the piece that he earned so hard. He made up his mind to teach the fox a good lesson. So, he kept the meat under his feet and sang of the cavalry of the fox.

It was, somehow, beyond his thought. The fox felt ashamed and realised he was outwitted by the crow. Thus the cunning fox was fooled and left the place hurriedly. After a few yards down, the shameless fox looked back and saw the crow thoroughly enjoy its nosh. And the witty crow cast a looking of jeer to him.
