One day they ran into a triffle dispute. And boastful hare openly challenged his neighbour. They decided to run a race to a certain distance. Next day the race started at prefixed time. Initially the quick footed hare advanced few miles away. He saw no trace of his rival till afar. He thought to resume his journey after a rest of few minutes. He knew well the tortoise could never reach him. Under the shade of a tree by the way he started dozing. Unknowingly he fell to sound sleep. The tortoise came trotting there and saw his opponent having a nap. He crossed him quietly and stepped forward. Suddenly, an ant dropped down on the face of the hare and he woke up with a jerk. Great heavens! When he finished his last step, the tortoise was already there. The tortoise reached the goal first. He felt ashamed and bowed his head. Eventually the tortoise won the race and snatched award from the hare.
