           Acharya Parfulla Chandra Roy 

      India is the abode of great wise men and women. India is the gathering place of great souls. Acharya Parfulla Chandra Roy is one of the greatest scientist of India. In 1861, this genius took birth at Khulna in Bangladesh. He started his lesson at village pathsala. Next to it, Parfulla Chandra Roy was admitted to Hare School. From Albert School, Parfulla Chandra passed Entrance Examination in 1879. He got degree of F. A. from Metropolitan College in 1882 and won Gilchrist Scholarship that year. In London Mr. Roy secured B. Sc degree from Edinburgh University (1882-84) and D. Sc later on. He was appointed as the professor in Presidency College in the year of 1889. The Indian pride Parfulla Chandra was first to prepare Mercurous Nitrite in laboratory in 1896. With efforts he established Bengal Chemicals in 1901. He joined Science College as Palit Professor and worked next few years. The year 1994 felt a great lapse of such a great personnel when this noble Indian scientist  passed away.
